About Lakes Region Lacrosse Club:
The Lakes Region Lacrosse Club was formed in 1995. By 2018, over 150 youth athletes began or continued the development of their skills, sportsmanship, and knowledge of the culture and tactics of lacrosse. This included the Program's ninth year of Girls Lacrosse with 65+ young ladies participating at the 8U, 10U, 12U & 14U levels. Lakes Region is now in it's last season with only a group of grade 7/8 boys left.
Lakes Region Lacrosse participates in the New Hampshire Youth Lacrosse Association League in the following age divisions: Girls and Boys U8 (Grades 1&2), U10 (Grades 3&4), U12 (Grades 5&6), and U14 (Grades 7&8). The club is also active in supporting the development of high school lacrosse programs. The Club's home field is the Meadows Complex in Gilford.
Athletes residing in the Lakes Region actively participate in both Boys and Girls divisions. (A complete listing of eligible towns can be found in the "Player Eligibility" section below.) Many long-term friendships are formed that extend across town boundaries. This camaraderie is repeatedly evident when old friends meet to compete during their high school lacrosse careers.
Program Overview:
Schedule: Practices typically begin in late March or early April, with weather/field conditions being the primary factor. Practices are typically held 2-3 times per week. Eight regularly scheduled league games occur on Sundays, beginning the first weekend in April through the first full weekend in June (excluding Memorial Day weekend). Approximately one half of the games are held locally and one half require travel to host towns in New Hampshire. A state tournament is scheduled for the second weekend in June (all divisions).
Participation Cost: The participation fee is $135.00 per registered athlete for all levels. This covers league, tournament and referees fees, and field expenses. It does not include personal equipment detailed below. In addition, each player must be a current member of US Lacrosse. Annual Membership in US Lacrosse is $30.00. Athletes must also have a team uniform, as described below.
Required Player Equipment:
Girls: Approved lacrosse stick, mouth guard, eye protection are required. Close fitting gloves and soft headgear are permitted; no hard helmets may be worn except by the goalie. Cleats are recommended.
Boys: Approved lacrosse stick, helmet (NOCSAE approved), shoulder pads with chest protection, arm pads, gloves, mouth guard, athletic support and cleats and rib pads are recommended.
Goalie: Specialized equipment required for the goalie will be provided.
Uniforms: All players are required to wear the official Lakes Region Lacrosse Uniform. The cost of the uniform for NEW players registering for the season is $65.
Player Eligibility:
Players from Alton, Gilford, Gilmanton, Belmont, Canterbury, Center Harbor, Meredith, Moultonboro, Northfield, Sanbornton, Sandwich, and Tilton are eligible. In cases where a town-specific program is not available, players that reside in other towns may be accommodated with approval. However, if you reside in a town that has a program, you cannot participate in the Lakes Region Program.
The New Hampshire Youth Lacrosse Association has adopted Grade-based eligibility rules: Also, an age eligible athlete can play U14 as a high school freshman IF they are NOT playing on their school team. When you register your athlete, they will be placed in the appropriate age bracket. Go here to read the age rules in full: http://www.uslacrosse.org/rules/age-eligibility-guidelines
Age Divisions: Depending upon turnout numbers, we are planning for Boys & Girls U8, U10, U12 & U14 teams (Grades 1-8) Players must participate in their age-eligible divisions, where such division is available.
